The Mitutoyo 133 series tubular vernier inside micrometer has a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise inside dimension (ID) measurements of the inside dimensions of cylinders, rings, and parallel surfaces. The micrometer head sleeve rotates to adjust the zero point to help provide accuracy. A locking clamp helps hold measurements in place. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.001â€, and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. The micrometer comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The Fowler 52-401 series outside micrometer has a choice of measuring range and flat anvil/spindle pairs with interchangeable anvils to provide a wide measuring range. The digit scale has 0.0001" graduations and an accuracy of 0.0003" on 0 to 6" micrometers or 0.0004" on 6 to 12" micrometers. Carbide-tipped anvils provide wear resistance and are fitted with an adjusting collar to set the overall dimension. The spindle thread is hardened, ground, and micro-lapped to provide smooth movement, accuracy, and long life. The positive locking lever on the spindle locks measurements in place for accurate readings. A friction thimble provides smooth and quiet operations, and is suitable for one-handed operation. Friction-style thimbles stop turning when the spindle comes into contact with the workpiece, providing constant force for consistent measurements between operators. The heat-insulated steel frame helps reduce temperature-related expansion or contraction providing accurate measurements. Each micrometer includes a set of interÂchangeable anvils to adjust accurately the micrometer for the required range, a wrench, and a fitted case.
