The Mitutoyo 368 series Holtest vernier inside micrometer has three-point contacts for self-centering measurement of the inside dimension (ID) of bores, and a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise ID measurements. It also has a ratchet-stop mechanism that helps provide uniform pressure for precise, repeatable measurements. The micrometer is made of high-grade tool steel for durability and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.0001†or 0.0002†depending on the model. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped or TiN-coated for wear resistance depending on the model. The micrometer comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The Mitutoyo 139 series tubular vernier inside micrometer includes a set of extension pipes with anvils for a diversified range of measurement measuring inside dimensions (ID) of cylinders, rings, and parallel surfaces. It has a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise ID measurements to 0.001â€, and a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The micrometer head has a travel of 1†per revolution that helps provide quick positioning. The hollow, tubular extension pipes help provide light weight with rigidity. A locking clamp helps hold measurements in place. The micrometer and accessories come with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. The Mitutoyo 337 series Digimatic tubular LCD inside micrometer includes a set of solid extension rods to help provide durability when measuring inside dimensions of cylinders, rings, and parallel surfaces. It has a single-value LCD readout that displays in inch and metric units with resolution to 0.00005†(0.001mm), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) data output to transmit results to a computer or external device. The output jack transmits SPC results to a computer through an interface cable (sold separately). The micrometer’s electronic microprocessor can hold measurements at any position, convert to absolute value, set a temporary zero position, and return to a true zero reading. The electronics housing has an Ingress Protection 65 (IP65) rating, which means that components are resistant to penetration by dust and debris, and resistant to penetration by liquids and coolant up to the force of a low-pressure (to 30 kilonewtons/meter-squared) water jet. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. The micrometer includes, and is powered by, a single SR44 silver oxide battery, and comes with a wooden case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. The Mitutoyo 368-918 Holtest three-point micrometer set has TiN-coated points, a measurement range of 0.8-2.0â€, and is precise to 0.0002â€, with + or - 0.00015†of accuracy. Titanium nitride (TiN)-coated measuring contact points offer durability and impact resistance, while contact point geometry allows the instrument to measure to the bottom of a blind hole. The ratchet stop offers constant force for repeatability. Includes inspection certificate ensuring that the exact micrometer purchased has met National Institute of Standards and Technology master standards. This gage set includes four complete display units, two setting rings, extension rod, and a fitted plastic case. Bore gages measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gages are typically calibrated with a setting ring. Bore gages come in two types, one simple, and the other direct-measuring. Simple bore gages are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gages take the measurement directly, and display the measurement through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gages have a two- or three-point contact, which indicates how many points on the gage head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point systems are used to measure lobing, or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gages are used for fast, single-handed operation with good repeatability from one operator to another. Bore gages, regardless of type, can be used in some special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores.
