The Thermo Scientific 4001-000 Genesys 20 visible-light spectrophotometer has a 325 to 1100mn wavelength range, spectral bandwidth of up to 8.0nm, and a tungsten-halogen lamp, and is used for routine testing and in teaching laboratories. The instrument provides direct measurement of routine absorbance, transmittance, and concentration data. The up to 8.0nm spectral bandwidth is used for routine quality control measurements when high resolution is not required. The tungsten-halogen lamp and single detector support routine measurements in the visible range. The spectrophotometer is compatible with 10mm square cuvettes. The two-line, 20-character LCD displays simple instructions and test results. A sealed keypad protects the instrument from spills. The instrument has RS-232 and 36-pin parallel ports for connection to a PC or printer (sold separately). A spectrophotometer is a device used to measure and analyze aspects of light absorption in liquids and solids. Readings are displayed in digital or analog format. A spectrophotometer can have a handheld body for field use, or a bench-top body for laboratory applications. It may have one or more adapters to enable it to measure surfaces or liquids. A spectrophotometer is used for testing and measuring in anatomy, chemistry, agriculture, process plant, food and beverage making, homeland security, and educational appli...
