The Thermo Scientific AQ8000 Orion 8000 AquaMate UV/Vis spectrophotometer has a 190 to 1100nm wavelength range, a 1.8nm spectral bandwidth, and a xenon flash lamp, and is used for applications in water and wastewater analysis. The instrument includes more than 260 preprogrammed methods stored on a USB memory stick using Orion AQUAfast, Merck, CHEMetrics or Hach chemistries. The memory stick allows operators to load on the instrument only the required methods, and to add or remove methods as needed. The 1.8nm bandwidth provides lower detection limits and improved signal-to-noise performance. The xenon lamp provides an internal standard for wavelength accuracy verification, and the xenon flash lamp and beam splitter provide real-time reference beam correction with each lamp flash. The three-cell holder includes one adjustable holder for 13 to 25mm round vials, one holder for 20 or 50mm rectangular vials, and one holder for 10mm square vials. The six-cell holder accommodates up to six 10mm square vials, with one position reserved for a blank allowing automated analysis of up to five samples. The single-cell holder accommodates a single 10mm square vial. The instrument has three USB ports, for connection to a USB stick (included), or computer or printer (sold separately).
