The Hanna Instruments HI 98108 is a compact pH tester that has Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), manual one- or two-point calibration, a single-level LCD screen, an extendable cloth junction, and a protective cap. A pH meter is commonly used to measure the pH of substance such as water, food, beer, or wine in laboratory, industrial, and food applications. The single-line LCD screen of this meter shows the current measurement. The meter has automatic temperature compensation from 0 to 50 degrees C for accurate readings in fluctuating temperatures. The meter has manual one- or two-point calibration through a trimmer on the side. A renewable cloth junction can be pulled out approximately 20 times to expose a fresh section and extend the life of the meter. A protective cap keeps the sensor moist when stored upright. Four 1.5V AA batteries provide approximately 200 hours of use. The meter also comes with a calibration screwdriver and instructions.SpecificationspH range0.0 to 14.0Temperature range0 to 50 degrees CpH resolution.1pH accuracy+ or - .1Operating temperature0 to 50 degrees C (32 to 122 degrees F)Operating relative humidity95 percentDimensions175 x 41 x 23mm/6.9 x 1.6 x 0.9 inches (H x W x D)Meter weight95g/3.4oz.H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. A pH meter, also called a sensor or tester, is a device used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. A pH meter has either a portable or a benchtop body. Many portable meters are handheld devices. Some testers have an internal sensor, and may have a tip and body that fit inside of a container for measurement. A meter is commonly used in many different environments from laboratories to field research and manufacturing facilities. Researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists use a pH meter in aquaculture, agricultural, wine-making, and water-testing, and for scientific applications. Some pH meters may measure a...
