The Fowler 541013001 Xtra-Value Cal Electronic Caliper is constructed of stainless steel. Large easy to read display, direct inch/metric conversion, absolute/incremental measurement, and 4-way measuring. Includes shop-hardened case. This product has a 1 year warranty offered by Fowler High Precision. If you experience any problem contact Fowler directly for warranty claims. Dial calipers are measuring instruments commonly used for inspection in manufacturing to provide the precise measurements of an object. A pair of jaws attached to a long beam with a marked scale is used to measure inside, outside, and step measurements in standard or metric units. An additional depth probe slides along the beam to take depth measurements. One jaw is fixed to the end of the scale, while the other jaw slides along it to take measurements. A circular dial indicator is fixed to the movable jaw on a toothed gear rack that transfers movement of the jaws to the dial needle. The base measurement is taken from the long beam, which provides the initial whole measurement in inches or centimeters, and added to the dial reading, which provides fractional measurements in inches or millimeters. A locking mechanism provides the ability to take differential measurements for determining the difference in measurements between two objects. Compared to digital calipers, dial calipers are more durable, but are more susceptible to shock damage and prone to getting dirt in the gears, which can cause accuracy problems. Vernier calipers are more durable than dial calipers because they do not have internal moving parts, but they can be more difficult to read. Dial calipers are commonly used in fields such as metalworking, mechanical engineering, machining, and carpentry. Fowler, an American company, manufactures inspection and measurement instruments such as electronic indicators, calipers, bore gages and digital scales. The company founded in 1946, is headquartered in Newton, MA.  What's in the Box? ·         Fowler 54...

The Mitutoyo 2416S-10 dial indicator is used to measure surface variations. It has a measurement range of 0 to 1.0", graduations of 0.001", an accuracy of + or - 0.002", and a range per revolution of 0.1". The dial is white with a contrasting hand for readability. The stem design provides a long clamping range, there are no through screw-holes on the frame for dust- and water-resistance, and it has a lug back for mounting from the rear of the indicator. This unit has a 3/8" diameter stem and a #4-48 UNF contact point thread mount. The dial has a jeweled bearing for accurate readings. This model is a continuous dial with a reading of 0-100, for direct readings. It has a force of 1.8 Newtons (N) or less.SpecificationsRange0 to 1.0"Graduations0.001"Accuracy+ or - 0.002" (overall)Range per revolution0.1"Measuring force1.8N or lessStem#4-48 UNF contact point thread mount with 3/8" diameter spindleFaceDial, white face, jeweled bearing, lug on backDial reading0-100Dimensions115.7 x 57 x 25.3mm (H x W x D), not including lugShipping weight0.57lb.H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, probe, and electronic indicators. These precision instruments measure small linear distances and object sizes. The dial magnifies the measurement so that it can be easily read by the human eye. Frequently used in manufacturing, laboratories, and other industrial or mechanical fields, dial indicators are used anywhere a small measurement must be found and recorded or transferred, such as checking the variation in tolerance of a workpiece. Standard dial indicators measure the displacement along the axis of the indicator. Dial test indicators are very similar to dial indicators, except that the axis of measurement is perpendicular to the axis of the indicator. Dial and dial test indicators can be analog, with a mechanical dial, or electronic, with a digital disp...

The Mitutoyo 700 series digital caliper is one of Mitutoyo’s My Cal Lite Digimatic DIY (Do-It-Yourself) digital calipers. It offers the advantages of digital calipers at an economical price. It is made of steel to shield its components. It gives an absolute reading from zero rather than the last at-rest position, and uses Mitutoyo’s linear encoder technology, which allows users to “set and forget†the origin and make comparative measurements. The digital caliper has a four-digit LCD display, to help ensure readability. Function control buttons are accessible from the caliper face, and include Inch/Metric to convert from inch to metric measurements, Origin to set and retain the original measuring point, On/Zero to turn on the caliper and zero-set the LCD display, and Off to turn off the caliper. The caliper tracks the origin point you set—even after shutoff. Once on again, the caliper can immediately start measuring, without zero resetting or concern of overspeed errors. The LCD can be "zeroed out" before making and comparing incremental measurements without having to subtract the first measurement from the second. An alarm alerts the user to low voltage, scale contamination, overspeed, and counting value composition errors. The digital caliper has an ABSOLUTE electrostatic capacitance linear encoder to help reduce overspeed errors and a depth measuring bar. Its jaws and rule are sized for personal use. LCD resolution is 0.001†(0.1mm). A rolling thumb wheel makes fine adjustments and a thumb screw locks the scale’s position. Response speed is up to 70.8 inches/1,800 mm per second. The caliper includes, and is powered by, a single SR44 silver oxide cell battery that lasts for approximately 2 years with continual normal use. Calipers measure the distance between two opposing sides of an object. They make inside, outside, depth, or step measurements, according to their type. Calipers are commonly used in architecture, metalworking, mechanical engineering, and machini...
