Fowler 54-520-250 1â€/25mm Indi-X Blue Electronic Indicator comes with full 1 year warranty. This low cost, high quality, multi-function indicator performs direct Inch/Metric conversion. It has a resolution of .0005â€/.01mm, 2-1/4†dial face, carbide tipped point, 3/8" stem mountings and a lug back for a range of mounting options. The carbide tipped point provides durability for surfaces with a hardness rating below that of carbide. Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, probe, and electronic indicators. These precision instruments measure small linear distances and object sizes. The dial magnifies the measurement so that it can be easily read by the human eye. Frequently used in manufacturing, laboratories, and other industrial or mechanical fields, dial indicators are used anywhere a small measurement must be found and recorded or transferred, such as checking the variation in tolerance of a workpiece. Standard dial indicators measure the displacement along the axis of the indicator. Dial test indicators are very similar to dial indicators, except that the axis of measurement is perpendicular to the axis of the indicator. Dial and dial test indicators can be analog, with a mechanical dial, or electronic, with a digital display. Some electronic models transfer the data electronically to a computer for recording and potential manipulation. This digital indicator comes with full 1 year warranty offered by Fowler. For warranty claims contact Fowler directly. Fowler Precision is an American company that manufactures inspection and measurement instruments such as electronic indicators, calipers, bore gages, and digital scales. The company, founded in 1946, is headquartered in Newton, MA.

Fowler 52-585-125 mag base with AGD white face dial indicator set, 0-1" measuring range, is designed to measure variations in thousandths (0.001"). The American Gage Design (AGD) Group 2 dial indicator has a 2-1/4" continuous dial with a reading of 0-100, a revolution counter, a total measuring range of 0-1" and 0.001" graduations, with each revolution equal to 0.1". The set includes a dial indicator, magnetic base and fitted storage box. The magnetic base has an 85lb. pull and the ability to mount test indicators with a 1/4" post. The base is 2 x 2-11/32 x 1-13/16 inches (H x W x D) and has a V-shape for mounting on round surfaces. (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back). Dial readings with three digits, 0-10-0 for example, signify that the indicator has a balanced dial. Dial readings with two digits, 0-100 for example, indicate the dial has a continuous dial. Balanced dials are used for reading the difference from a specific surface reference point. Continuous dials are used for direct readings and usually have a larger measurement range than balanced dials. H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. The Fowler 52-244-301-1 outside micrometer has a digit display with a secondary Vernier scale, a 0 to 1" measuring range, and a ball anvil/spindle pair for measuring the inside and outside diameters of sleeves, collars, tubing, and other curved and cylindrical surfaces. The ball anvil and spindle contact the curve at a single point, providing accurate measurements. The digit display has a 0.001" resolution and the secondary Vernier-scale has 0.0001" graduations for precise readings. An overall accuracy of 0.00016" provides accurate measurements. The ball-style anvil is hardened and precision-ground to provide wear resistance. The hardened, ground, and lapped spindle thread provides smooth movement, accuracy, and long life. The positive locking nut on the spindle locks measurements in place for accurate readings and the zero adjustment on the sleeve ensures accurate measurements. The ratchet-stop thimble can be used independently of the friction thimble. It provides an audible sound and stops the spindle from turning when the spindle comes into contact with the workpiece, providing constant force for consistent measurements between operators. The baked-enamel frame is heat-insulated to provide durability, long life, and resistance to temperature-related expansion and contraction. The micrometer includes a wrench and a fitted case. SpecificationsDisplay type Digit with Vernier scale Anvil/spindle style Ball Measuring range 0 to 1" Graduation interval 0.001" on digit counter, 0.0001" on Vernier scale Accuracy 0.00016" Thimble style Ratchet stop Anvil/spindle diameter 0.256"Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to...

The Starrett 1025-6 stainless steel pocket slide caliper fits easily in a shop coat pocket and is precise to 1/64†for quick yet precise measurements. Readings are made directly from two lines marked “in†and “out†on one side of the caliper stock. The outside range is 0 to 4-3/4†while the inside range is 1/4 to 5â€. The back of the caliper stock has an inch scale to allow the caliper to be used as a steel rule as well, for easy and fast estimation of rough measurements. The knurled thumb piece activates the slide, while the slide stop prevents the tool from being disassembled. The clamp screw has a left-hand thread for easy one-hand operation. The jaws have a straight measuring surface for outside measurements and rounded nibs for inside and hole measurements. The jaws are 1-3/8†deep, while the closed nibs are 1/4†wide. The graduations on the stock are in 1/32†increments, while the graduations on the slide are in 1/32†and 1/64†increments. Calipers measure the distance between two opposing sides of an object. They make inside, outside, depth, or step measurements, according to their type. Calipers are commonly used in architecture, metalworking, mechanical engineering, machining, manufacturing, carpentry, and medicine. The simplest calipers have two legs to mark the two points and require a ruler to take the measurement. More complex calipers use two sets of jaws instead of legs and have up to two graduated scales. Vernier, dial, and digital calipers give direct and accurate readings and are functionally identical, having a calibrated scale with a fixed jaw, and another jaw with a movable pointer that slides along the scale. The vernier caliper has a scale sliding parallel to the main scale for an additional, fractional reading to improve measurement precision. The dial caliper has a circular dial with a pointer on a toothed gear rack replacing the second vernier scale. As with the vernier, this second measurement is added to the readi...
