This Megger lead set with medium insulated clips includes one red, one blue, and one black test lead for use with Megger 5- and 10-kilovolt (kV) insulation resistance testers. Each test lead has a medium test clip for hands-free connection to a large conductor where there is limited access. Silicone insulation on the lead wires and test clips helps protect hands from shock and heat, resists melting or becoming brittle in hot or cold environments, and maintains flexibility better than PVC insulation. The test leads lock into the input jacks on the meter to help ensure a secure connection and reduce risk of shock. The medium test clips measure 2.9" x 5.4" (73 x 139 mm, W x D, where W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back) and have a 1.3" (34 mm) jaw opening. The insulated clips are rated for a maximum input of 6 kV of direct current (DC) voltage. They meet International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety standard 61010 and are certified for use with category IV installations up to 600V, which covers measurements at the source of the low-voltage supply, such as electricity meters and overcurrent protection devices. The insulated leads are rated for a maximum input of 12 kV of DC voltage.A test probe, test lead, test prod, or scope probe transmits an electrical signal to a testing device for display and analysis. Designs range from simple test leads with probe-style or clamp-on tips to more complex oscilloscope probes and current detectors. Some test probes, such as basic test leads, have wires with tips for connecting to test equipment. Other test probes, such as voltage detectors, are built into the meter. Depending on what is to be tested, the probe might either be passive or have active parts that require external power to operate. Some probes require contact for testing, while some are capable of taking measurements from a distance. Some also have finger barriers, insulation, or other features to help protect the operator's hand from el...

The Amprobe AMB-2 insulation resistance tester is an analog meter that measures insulation resistance to help reduce shock hazards and downtime on electrical systems that include wires, cables, transformers, and electrical motors. A manual range selection knob allows the operator to choose Megaohms or ohms measuring ranges. The unit measures voltage from 0 to 600V alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) and insulation resistance from 0 to 100 megaohms using 300mV, 250V, or 500V DC test voltage. The low resistance range, which uses a 300mV test voltage, is designed to test the resistance of motor windings. The tester automatically discharges capacitance after use so that the test leads may safely be removed from the device. Test leads and a carrying case are included. The tester is powered by eight AA batteries (included). The AMB-2 is designed for use by electricians and electrical contractors. Specifications Power supply (8) AA batteries (included) Insulation resistance range 0 ohm to 100 megaohms AC and DC voltage range 0 to 600V Weight (including batteries) 1.25lb./0.56kg Dimensions 6.25 x 4.09 x 2.81 inches/158.8 x 104 x 71.4mm (H x W x D)H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.Electrical test meters report electrical circuit properties, such as voltage, resistance, capacitance, and continuity. Available in handheld or benchtop form, they detect electrical problems in equipment, wiring, and power supplies. A variety of probes, clamps, and leads can be used to connect the meter to a circuit or device. Single-function meters, such as battery testers and voltage testers, measure one property of a circuit, and multimeters measure multiple properties. Electrical test meters display information either in analog form using a needle that moves on a calibrated scale, or in digital form using digits or a graphic representation on an LED screen. Meters have electri...

The Amprobe DCG-1000A clamp ground resistance tester is a ground resistance tester that measures ground resistance, current, and continuity in multi-grounded electrical systems. This true RMS (root mean square) meter provides accurate readings when measuring linear or non-linear loads where the current or voltage has a sinusoidal or nonsinusoidal waveform. The clamp-on head enables the user to measure resistance on a ground rod in a multi-ground system without the use of auxiliary ground rods and without disconnecting the other grounds. The unit does not require any additional electrodes or test leads. The tester measures ground resistance from 0.025 to 1,500 ohms and AC current up to 10A. It is safety rated to European Standard 61010-2-32 Category III 300V and Category II 600V. The four-digit LCD screen indicates values up to 9999. The unit is powered by one 9V batter (installed), which provides power for 3,000 measurements. The DCG-1000A is designed for use by electricians and electrical contractors.
