This Megger lead set with large insulated clips includes one red, one blue, and one black test lead for use with Megger 5- and 10-kilovolt (kV) insulation resistance testers. Each test lead has a large test clip for hands-free connection to a large conductor. Silicone insulation on the lead wires and test clips helps protect hands from shock and heat, resists melting or becoming brittle in hot or cold environments, and maintains flexibility better than PVC insulation. The test leads lock into the input jacks on the meter to help ensure a secure connection and reduce risk of shock. The large test clips measure 5.2" x 8.7" (134 x 220 mm, W x D, where W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back) and have a 1.3" (34 mm) jaw opening. The insulated clips are rated for a maximum input of 10 kV of direct current (DC) voltage. They meet International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety standard 61010 and are certified for use with category IV installations up to 600V, which covers measurements at the source of the low-voltage supply, such as electricity meters and overcurrent protection devices. The insulated leads are rated for a maximum input of 12 kV of DC voltage.A test probe, test lead, test prod, or scope probe transmits an electrical signal to a testing device for display and analysis. Designs range from simple test leads with probe-style or clamp-on tips to more complex oscilloscope probes and current detectors. Some test probes, such as basic test leads, have wires with tips for connecting to test equipment. Other test probes, such as voltage detectors, are built into the meter. Depending on what is to be tested, the probe might either be passive or have active parts that require external power to operate. Some probes require contact for testing, while some are capable of taking measurements from a distance. Some also have finger barriers, insulation, or other features to help protect the operator's hand from electrical shock and burns. Test ...

The products in this kit have been specifically selected for both troubleshooting and preventative maintenance applications. Establishing preventative maintenance programs are becoming critical to maintaining the uptime of electrical equipment and can significantly reduce both planned and unplanned downtime. Unplanned downtime costs are difficult to calculate, but often significant. For some industries, it can represent 1% - 3% of revenue (potentially 30% - 40% of profits) annually.

The Megger 242011 series duplex test lead with helical spring-point duplex hand spikes is for use with Megger 247100, 247101, DLRO10HD, DLRO10, and DLRO10X digital low-resistance ohmmeters. This duplex test lead measures both current and resistance when taking four-wire resistance measurements, which are more accurate than two-wire resistance measurements and allow low resistance values to be detected. The lead has a maximum test current input of 10 amp. The helical spring-point hand spikes compress and rotate to make contact with a conductor. There is 0.4" (10 mm) between the current and potential probe tips on the duplex hand spikes.A test probe, test lead, test prod, or scope probe transmits an electrical signal to a testing device for display and analysis. The Megger GA-90000 two-piece test Kelvin probe cable kit includes two 4' (1.3 m) test cables for use with the Megger MOM2 microhmmeter or other compatible low-resistance ohmmeters. Both cables have a Kelvin probe on one end for taking four-wire resistance measurements, which are more accurate than two-wire resistance measurements and allow low resistance values to be detected. The Kelvin probe is held against the device to be tested. One Kelvin probe has a trigger button to allow reading to be taken without pressing a button on the meter.
