The Amprobe CT237A current clamp probe measures AC or DC current without touching or interrupting the circuit. The Hall effect clamp has two jaws that fit around a 0.75" (19 mm) conductor. It converts a high-current signal to a low-level millivolt signal so it can be read by a testing device. The zero adjust knob allows operator to compensate for changes in output voltage due to environmental conditions. The clamp attaches to a compatible testing device, such as a digital multimeter, with a 59-inch, 1.5-meter lead. A finger guard on the body of the meter helps protect fingers from shock. The clamp operates on one 9V battery (included). It weighs 0.55 pounds (250 g) and measures 8.66 by 2.2 by 1.2 inches (220 x 55 x 30 mm, H x W x D, where H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; and D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back).
