The Brown & Sharpe TESA Etalon Intalometer 531 vernier inside micrometer has three-point contacts for measurement of the inside dimension (ID) of through holes, blind bores, or short centering shoulders, and a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise ID measurements. A knurled friction thimble helps provide quick adjustment capability. The micrometer is made of high-grade tool steel for durability, and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.0001â€. The measuring contacts are made of hardened steel and separated by 120 degrees. The micrometer comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Brown & Sharpe manufactures precision measuring equipment and metrology hand tools. The company, founded in 1833, played a key role in setting industrial standards in the United States. Brown & Sharpe was acquired by Hexagon Metrology in 2001, and is headquartered in North Kingstown, RI.

The Mitutoyo 468 series Digimatic Holtest LCD inside micrometer has three-point contacts for self-centering measurement of the inside dimension (ID) of bores, and a digital single-value LCD readout that displays in metric units with resolution to 0.001mm. It also has Statistical Process Control (SPC) data output to transmit results to a computer or external device through an interface cable (sold separately). The micrometer’s electronic microprocessor can hold measurements at any position, convert to absolute value, set a temporary zero position, and return to a true zero reading. An automatic off function helps preserve battery life when the unit is not in use. The electronics housing has an Ingress Protection 65 (IP65) rating, which means that components are resistant to penetration by dust and debris, and resistant to penetration by liquids and coolant up to the force of a low-pressure (to 30 kilonewtons/meter-squared) water jet. The measuring faces are made of hardened steel are TiN-coated for wear resistance. The micrometer includes, and is powered by, a single SR44 silver oxide battery, and comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. Starrett Countersink Gauges are offered in three different angles so that the gauge sets on the angular side of the countersink, as opposed to a chamfer gauge which sets on the top edge of the chamfer. This gauge directly reads the large diameter of the countersink in 0.002" or 0.05 mm increments. A set master ring is furnished with each gauge for calibration and setting. Press the button on top of the indicator to firmly depress the gauge head into the countersink. When the gauge is removed, the indicator reading is held in place until the reset button is activated.

The Mitutoyo 568-464 Borematic Snap LCD Bore Gauge has a measurement range of 0.50 to 0.75" (12.7 to 16.51 mm) and is accurate to + or - 0.0003" (0.007 mm). Gradient spacing is 0.00005" (0.001 mm). This direct-measuring gauge has a built-in tolerance judgment function which allows GO/NO-GO judgment based on user-defined upper and lower limit settings. It has a 330-degree rotatable LCD and provides both inch and metric readings. The quick-action lever operation offers quick and error-free measurement reading. This gauge uses a three-point contact system for the detection of lobing or triangular form error, and TiN-coated contact points provide durability and impact resistance. This gauge can measure near the bottom of a blind hole and has SPC data output.Bore gauges measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gauges are typically calibrated with a setting ring and come in two types: simple and direct-measuring. Simple bore gauges are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gauges take the measurement directly, and display it through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gauges have a two- or three-point contact, indicating how many points on the gauge head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point contacts are used to measure lobing or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gauges are used for fast, single-handed operation with repeatable results from one operator to another. Bore gauges can also be used in special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems.
