The Mitutoyo 526-103 Dial Bore Gauge for Extra Small Holes has a measurement range of 0.3 to 0.4" and is accurate to + or - 0.00016". It uses a split ball design to measure the inside diameter of holes and identify out-of-roundness problems with stainless steel contact points for high wear resistance. The gauge stem diameter is 0.375" and the probe depth is 2.2". This gauge is for use with Mitutoyo dial indicators (sold separately).Bore gauges measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gauges are typically calibrated with a setting ring and come in two types: simple and direct-measuring. Simple bore gauges are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gauges take the measurement directly, and display it through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gauges have a two- or three-point contact, indicating how many points on the gauge head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point contacts are used to measure lobing or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gauges are used for fast, single-handed operation with repeatable results from one operator to another. Bore gauges can also be used in special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The Starrett 690M-1Z Hole Gauge Dial Bore Gauge has a measurement range of 0.25 to 1.00 mm and gradient spacing of 0.02 mm. The gauge can be pressed down on a flat surface and checked so the size reads the same as the set number stamped on the back of the indicator. The balanced design makes for easy one-handed operation and all ground surfaces are made of hardened tool steel for durability.Bore gauges measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. The Starrett 700M series internal groove vernier inside micrometer has caliper-type jaws and a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise inside dimension (ID) measurements. The micrometer is made of high-grade tool steel, with hardened and ground jaws for accuracy. A knurled friction thimble helps provide quick adjustment capability. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.01mm and a locking clamp helps hold measurements in place. The micrometer has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. The L.S. Starrett Countersink Gauges are offered in three different angles so that the gauge sets on the angular side of the countersink, as opposed to a chamfer gauge which sets on the top edge of the chamfer. This gauge directly reads the large diameter of the countersink in 0.002" or 0.05 mm increments. A set master ring is furnished with each gauge for calibration and setting. Press the button on top of the indicator to firmly depress the gauge head into the countersink. When the gauge is removed, the indicator reading is held in place until the reset button is activated.

These gauges directly measure the diameter of chamfered holes. No setting master is necessary. When the three-blade plunger is pressed against a flat surface, the gauge should read the set number stamped on the back of the indicator. In case of wear, the gauge may be adjusted to read the proper number.
