The Mitutoyo 139 series tubular vernier inside micrometer includes a set of extension pipes with anvils for a diversified range of measurement measuring inside dimensions (ID) of cylinders, rings, and parallel surfaces. It has a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise ID measurements to 0.001â€, and a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The micrometer head has a travel of 1†per revolution that helps provide quick positioning. The hollow, tubular extension pipes help provide light weight with rigidity. A locking clamp helps hold measurements in place. The micrometer and accessories come with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The Brown & Sharpe Micromaster Alesometer  LCD inside micrometer has three-point contacts for self-centering measurement of the inside dimension (ID) of through holes, blind bores, or short centering shoulders, and a digital single-value LCD readout that displays in inch and metric units with resolution to 0.00005†(0.001mm). It also has Statistical Process Control (SPC) data output to transmit results to a computer or external device through an interface cable (sold separately). The micrometer’s electronic microprocessor can hold measurements at any position, convert to absolute value, set a temporary zero position, and return to a true zero reading. An automatic off function helps preserve battery life when the unit is not in use. The electronics housing has an Ingress Protection 54 (IP54) rating, which means that components are resistant to debris and to splashing water from any direction up to a volume of 10 liters per minute. The measuring faces are made of hardened steel and may be uncoated, or tungsten carbide-tipped for wear resistance, depending on the model. The micrometer includes, and is powered by, a single CR2032 lithium cell battery, and comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. The Mitutoyo 368-916 Holtest three-point micrometer set has TiN-coated points, a measurement range of 0.275-0.5â€, and is precise to 0.0001â€, with + or - 0.0001†of accuracy. Titanium nitride (TiN)-coated measuring contact points offer durability and impact resistance, while contact point geometry allows the instrument to measure to the bottom of a blind hole. The ratchet stop offers constant force for repeatability. Includes inspection certificate ensuring that the exact micrometer purchased has met National Institute of Standards and Technology master standards. This gage set includes three complete display units, two setting rings, extension rod, and a fitted plastic case. Bore gages measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gages are typically calibrated with a setting ring. Bore gages come in two types, one simple, and the other direct-measuring. Simple bore gages are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gages take the measurement directly, and display the measurement through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gages have a two- or three-point contact, which indicates how many points on the gage head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point systems are used to measure lobing, or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gages are used for fast, single-handed operation with good repeatability from one operator to another. Bore gages, regardless of type, can be used in some special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores.
