These gauges directly measure the diameter of chamfered holes. No setting master is necessary. When the three-blade plunger is pressed against a flat surface, the gauge should read the set number stamped on the back of the indicator. In case of wear, the gauge may be adjusted to read the proper number.

The Mitutoyo 511-303 bore gage has a measurement range of 250 to 400 mm, with + or - 5 micrometers of accuracy. The micrometer head travels 50 mm, and the probe depth is 250 mm. There are two 50 mm anvil extensions for the micrometer head. These interchangeable anvils attach to the micrometer head for accurate dimensional setting, and to expand the measurement range. Bore gages measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gages are typically calibrated with a setting ring. Bore gages come in two types, one simple, and the other direct-measuring. Simple bore gages are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gages take the measurement directly, and display the measurement through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gages have a two- or three-point contact, which indicates how many points on the gage head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point systems are used to measure lobing, or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gages are used for fast, single-handed operation with good repeatability from one operator to another. Bore gages, regardless of type, can be used in some special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores. Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL. What’s in the Box? Mitutoyo 511-303 bore gage Two 50 mm anvils

The Mitutoyo 511-431 Dial Bore Gauge for Blind Holes has a measurement range of 0.6 to 1.4" and is accurate to + or - 0.0002". It is precise to 0.0005" and can measure internal diameters at positions close to the bottom of blind holes. This direct-measuring uses a two-point contact system to detect geometry problems such as ovality and taper, and carbide-tipped contact points provide extended wear and improved abrasion resistance. A rugged cover protects the dial indicator.Bore gauges measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. Starrett Countersink Gauges are offered in three different angles so that the gauge sets on the angular side of the countersink, as opposed to a chamfer gauge which sets on the top edge of the chamfer. This gauge directly reads the large diameter of the countersink in 0.002" or 0.05 mm increments. A set master ring is furnished with each gauge for calibration and setting. Press the button on top of the indicator to firmly depress the gauge head into the countersink. When the gauge is removed, the indicator reading is held in place until the reset button is activated.

The 145 series vernier inside micrometer has caliper-type jaws and a vernier scale in metric units for making precise inside dimension (ID) measurements. The micrometer is made of high-grade tool steel for durability and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.01mm. A locking clamp helps hold measurements in place. The micrometer comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole.
