The Mitutoyo 511-702 Bore Gauge without Indicator has a measurement range of 35 to 60 mm. The grip reduces the influence of heat from the operator's hand during use to retain high-accuracy measurement. This gauge uses a two-point contact system for the detection of geometry problems such as ovality and taper, and carbide-tipped contact points provide extended wear and improved abrasion resistance. This gauge is for use with Mitutoyo dial indicators (sold separately).Bore gauges measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gauges are typically calibrated with a setting ring and come in two types: simple and direct-measuring. Simple bore gauges are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gauges take the measurement directly, and display it through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gauges have a two- or three-point contact, indicating how many points on the gauge head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point contacts are used to measure lobing or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gauges are used for fast, single-handed operation with repeatable results from one operator to another. Bore gauges can also be used in special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The company, founded in Tokyo in 1934, formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963 with headquarters in Aurora, IL.

The Starrett 690-4Z Hole Gauge Dial Bore Gauge has a measurement range of 0.230 to 0.330" and gradient spacing of 0.001". The gauge can be pressed down on a flat surface and checked so the size reads the same as the set number stamped on the back of the indicator. The balanced design makes for easy one-handed operation and all ground surfaces are made of hardened tool steel for durability.Bore gauges measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. The Brown & Sharpe TESA Etalon Intalometer 531 vernier inside micrometer has two-point contacts for measurement of the inside dimension (ID) of through holes, blind bores, or short centering shoulders, and a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise ID measurements. It also has a knurled friction thimble to help provide quick adjustment capability. The micrometer is made of high-grade tool steel for durability, and has a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.0001â€. The measuring contacts are made of hardened steel for durability and separated by 180 degrees. The micrometer comes with a fitted case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Brown & Sharpe manufactures precision measuring equipment and metrology hand tools. The company, founded in 1833, played a key role in setting industrial standards in the United States. Brown & Sharpe was acquired by Hexagon Metrology in 2001, and is headquartered in North Kingstown, RI.
