The Mitutoyo 513 series dial test indicator has a white or yellow face, an 8mm stem diameter, and metric measurements. The indicator has a reversible measuring direction and an adjustable contact point, and is used to measure surface variations in narrow or recessed areas. The horizontal face is parallel to the axis of the indicator and three dovetail mounts, and can be mounted either horizontally or vertically from the front, top, or back of the indicator. It has a unified outer frame that prevents oil and water from permeating the front face, a hard frame body that provides rigidity and durability, and a clear, flat, and scratch-resistant crystal face. This dial indicator meets Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) B7533-1990. The basic set includes a dial indicator, a 2mm carbide contact point, an 8mm diameter stem, a knurled clamp ring, and a plastic storage box.Dial readings with three digits, such as 0-10-0, signify that the indicator has a balanced dial. Dial readings with two digits, such as 0-100, indicate that the dial has a continuous dial. Balanced dials are used to read the difference from a specific surface reference point. Continuous dials are used for direct readings and usually have a larger measurement range than balanced dials. Optional features include jeweled bearings for high sensitivity and accuracy, a revolution counter to measure overall change, a yellow face that meets ANSI standards for metric indicators or white face, and double scale that is numbered both clockwise and counter-clockwise for reading in both directions.Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, dial calipers, and probe indicators. These precision measuring tools are used to accurately measure small linear distances and object sizes. The dial magnifies the measurement so that it can more easily be read by the human eye. Frequently used in manufacturing, laboratories, and other industrial or mechanical fields, dial indicators are used anywhere a small measurement must be found and recorded or transferred, such as checking ...

The Starrett 79A-6 “Yankee†spring-type outside caliper opens to 6†(150 mm) with sturdy construction and smooth action. It is made of flat stock, high-grade steel, for easily reproducible and accurate transfer of measurements of the external size of an object. This caliper has flat, inward curving legs for outside measurements and comes with a solid nut. Bow spring is flexible yet strong, for reliability. The durable legs are made of flat stock, high-grade steel for long life. The centrally located adjustment rod ensures smooth action when opening and closing the caliper. The hardened fulcrum stud is strong to help prevent give or play in the measurement, which would reduce accuracy. Calipers measure the distance between two opposing sides of an object. They make inside, outside, depth, or step measurements, according to their type. Calipers are commonly used in architecture, metalworking, mechanical engineering, machining, manufacturing, carpentry, and medicine. The simplest calipers have two legs to mark the two points and require a ruler to take the measurement. More complex calipers use two sets of jaws instead of legs and have up to two graduated scales. Vernier, dial, and digital calipers give direct and accurate readings and are functionally identical, having a calibrated scale with a fixed jaw, and another jaw with a movable pointer that slides along the scale. The vernier caliper has a scale sliding parallel to the main scale for an additional, fractional reading to improve measurement precision. The dial caliper has a circular dial with a pointer on a toothed gear rack replacing the second vernier scale. As with the vernier, this second measurement is added to the reading from the main scale to obtain the result. The dial caliper is used also for measuring size differential between two objects. The digital caliper takes the same sort of differential measurements as the dial caliper by zeroing the display at any point along the slide, with an LCD (replacing the dial) that displays a ...

The black face has a contrasting hand to make measurements easy to read. The 0-15-0 balanced dial has a total measuring range of 0.030" with 0.0005" graduations. The auto-reverse mechanism and jeweled bearings provide accurate measurements. Two interchangeable carbide contacts points 0.40" long have 0.040" and 0.080" ball diameters for use on a range of surfaces. Carbide contact points provide durability for surfaces with a hardness rating below that of carbide. Three separate dovetail mounts allow the indicator to be mounted from the top, front, and back of the indicator and two dovetail clamping stems 3/8" and 1/4" in diameter provide a range of clamping options. The set includes a horizontal-face dial test indicator, a Certificate of Calibration, one 0.080" contact point, one 0.040" contact point, a universal clamp, a height gage attachment, a 3/8" dovetail clamp, a 1/4" dovetail clamp, and a fitted case. The Mitutoyo 101 series outside micrometer has a tapered frame for measuring narrow slots and tight spaces, a vernier scale in inch units for taking precise outside diameter (OD) measurements, and a ratchet-stop mechanism for uniform pressure during adjustment. The micrometer’s frame, thimble and sleeve have a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The vernier scale on the thimble and sleeve is graduated to 0.0001â€. The spindle and anvil have flat measuring faces and are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. A spindle lock helps provide secure locking of the measurement position. The unit comes with a fitted plastic case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and systems. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1934 and formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963, which is headquartered in Aurora, IL.

The Mitutoyo ABSOLUTE 500 series caliper with exclusive AOS sensor technology is a Digimatic caliper that is made of durable hardened stainless steel and uses Mitutoyo’s ABSOLUTE linear encoder technology, which allows you to “set and forget†the origin and measure in awkward or difficult locations. This series also utilizes the patented Advanced Onsite Sensor (AOS) offering improved measurement dependability by increasing resistance to harsh workshop conditions. The New electromagnetic inductive (AOS) sensor has improved resistance to environmental conditions such as dirt, oil and water that can cause false readings. This new feature will improve quality control and productivity in your workplace. This digital caliper has LCD readout and function control buttons on the caliper face, including Origin to set and retain the original measuring point, and Zero/ABS (Absolute Scale) to zero-set the LCD display. It uses the metric measuring system. Although identical to dial and vernier calipers in its ability to make precise measurements, the digital caliper also has an LCD, which clearly shows values and increases reading reliability over the other types, and reflects all ABSOLUTE system activities. The Absolute Scale (ABS) function tracks the origin point you set, even after shutoff. Once on again, the caliper can immediately start measuring, without zero resetting or concern of over speed errors. The LCD can be "zeroed out" before making and comparing incremental measurements without having to subtract the first measurement from the second. The calipers use the ABSOLUTE electrostatic capacitance linear encoder which helps prevent over speed errors. They measure outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID), depth, and step, where the butt end of the fixed jaw measures one end of a work piece before its upper/lower or inner/outer "steps" are measured. LCD Resolution is 0.01mm. Also included are origin-setting, zero-setting, and on/off automatic shutoff function buttons. A Digital LCD Data Reading Ho...
