The Mitutoyo 513 series dial test indicator has a white face, a 0.375" stem diameter, and inch measurements. The indicator has a reversible measuring direction and an adjustable contact point, and is used to measure surface variations in narrow or recessed areas. The horizontal face is parallel to the axis of the indicator and three dovetail mounts, and can be mounted either horizontally or vertically from the front, top, or back of the indicator. It has a unified outer frame that prevents oil and water from permeating the front face, a hard frame body that provides rigidity and durability, and a clear, flat, and scratch-resistant crystal face. This dial indicator meets Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) B7533-1990. The basic set includes a dial indicator, a 0.079" carbide contact point, a 3/8" diameter stem, a knurled clamp ring, and a plastic storage box.Dial readings with three digits, such as 0-10-0, signify that the indicator has a balanced dial. Dial readings with two digits, such as 0-100, indicate that the dial has a continuous dial. Balanced dials are used to read the difference from a specific surface reference point. Continuous dials are used for direct readings and usually have a larger measurement range than balanced dials. Optional features include jeweled bearings for high sensitivity and accuracy, and a white face.Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, dial calipers, and probe indicators. These precision measuring tools are used to accurately measure small linear distances and object sizes. The dial magnifies the measurement so that it can more easily be read by the human eye. Frequently used in manufacturing, laboratories, and other industrial or mechanical fields, dial indicators are used anywhere a small measurement must be found and recorded or transferred, such as checking the variation in tolerance of a workpiece. Standard dial indicators measure the displacement along the axis of the indicator. Dial test indicators are very similar to dial indicators, except that the axis of measureme...

The Mitutoyo Series 129 Vernier Depth Gauge, Interchangeable Rods, Micrometer Type, Metric, depending on the model, have a measurement range of 0 to 50mm, 0 to 100mm, or 0 to 150mm, and a resolution (or smallest graduation interval) of 0.01mm. (See the product catalog for information on accuracy.) The vernier scale provides precise measurements. These gauges include interchangeable 4mm diameter measuring rods (2, 4, or 6 rods included, depending on the measurement range) for flexibility in measuring range. The units have a ratchet stop for uniform pressure and a measuring rod clamp for stability. They have a satin chrome finish on the body for readability and the bases are made of hardened steel for durability and accuracy. They come in a fitted plastic case. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display.Mitutoyo manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology equipment, and related systems. The company, founded in Tokyo in 1934, formed Mitutoyo America Corporation in 1963 with headquarters in Aurora, IL.

The Starrett 196 series universal dial indicator has a 0 to 0.2" measuring range with 0.001" graduations for precise measurement of the rise or drop in a work piece. It has a 0 to 100 counter with one revolution equivalent to 0.1", and the white-face dial has a scratch-resistant crystal face for ease of reading. The plunger on the back of the dial comes with 1/2", 5/16", and 1/8" diameter contact points. The dial indicator has a 1/4" diameter stainless-steel shank for mounting. Some dial indicator sets include an adapter, a standard letter of certification, and clamp, tool post holder, snug, and hole attachments. The dial indicator is suitable for applications such as quality control for machined parts.Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, probe, and electronic indicators. Dial test indicators are very similar to dial indicators, except that the axis of measurement is perpendicular to the axis of the indicator. Dial and dial test indicators can be analog, with a mechanical dial, or electronic, with a digital display. Some electronic models transfer the data electronically to a computer for recording and potential manipulation. The L.S.
