The Starrett 3753 Electronic Depth Gauge without Output, has a measurement range of 0 to 8" (0 to 200mm), and a resolution (or smallest graduation interval) of 0.0005" (0.01mm) with + or – 0.001" (0.03mm) of accuracy. The LCD screen displays in both inches and metric. The base is 2.75"(70mm) long, and the body and the slide are made of hardened stainless steel for durability. Control buttons offer Zero at any position, Hold at any position, and Limits functions. These gauges include one CR2032 lithium battery. Larger bases and additional batteries are sold separately. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement. Gauge position is read from a graduated scale, dial, counters, or an electronic display. The L.S. Starrett Company manufactures precision measuring tools, metrology and testing equipment, and saw blade products. The company, founded in 1880, is headquartered in Athol, MA.

The Mitutoyo 209 series external measurement caliper gauge has a dial display and large measuring depth for taking outer dimension (OD) comparison measurements in metric units of thickness of grooves or tubes, and other hard-to-reach external dimensions.. Depending on the model, these units come with pairings of ball contact points suitable for measuring external wall thickness of tubes, and/or chisel contact points suitable for measuring flat surfaces. The calipers’ jaws are spring loaded, which provide the point contacts with constant measuring pressure. The calipers have an Ingress Protection 65 (IP65) rating, which means that components are resistant to penetration by dust and debris, and resistant to penetration by liquids and coolant up to the force of a low-pressure (to 30 kilonewtons/meter-squared) water jet. Calipers measure the distance between two opposing sides of an object. They make inside, outside, depth, or step measurements, according to their type. Calipers are commonly used in architecture, metalworking, mechanical engineering, and machining. The simplest calipers have two legs to mark the two points and require a ruler to take the measurement. More complex calipers use two sets of jaws instead of legs and have up to two graduated scales. Vernier, dial, and digital calipers give direct and accurate readings and are functionally identical, having a calibrated scale with a fixed jaw, and another jaw with a movable pointer that slides along the scale. The vernier caliper has a scale sliding parallel to the main scale for an additional, fractional reading to improve measurement precision. The dial caliper has a circular dial with a pointer on a toothed gear rack replacing the second vernier scale. As with the vernier, this second measurement is added to the reading from the main scale to obtain the result. The digital caliper takes a differential by zeroing the display at any point along the slide, with an LCD that displays a single value in English and/or metric units. Mitutoyo manufactur...

The Fowler 52-646-250 Right Angle Dial Bore Gauge has a measurement range of 2 to 6" and gradient spacing of 0.0005". This direct-measuring gauge measures difficult-to-reach bores and has an insulated grip for extra stability. It uses a two-point contact system for the detection of geometry problems such as ovality and taper, and carbide-tipped contact points provided extended wear and improved abrasion resistance.Bore gauges measure holes, or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gauges are typically calibrated with a setting ring and come in two types: simple and direct-measuring. Simple bore gauges are used with a caliper to transfer the hole measurement, while the more complex gauges take the measurement directly, and display it through a vernier, dial, or digital display. Bore gauges have a two- or three-point contact, indicating how many points on the gauge head touch the inside of the bore. Two-point contacts are better at measuring ovality, while three-point contacts are used to measure lobing or triangular form error. Pistol-grip bore gauges are used for fast, single-handed operation with repeatable results from one operator to another. Bore gauges can also be used in special applications, such as measuring threads, spline pitch diameters, and deep bores. The Fred V. Fowler Company manufactures inspection and measurement instruments such as electronic indicators, calipers, bore gages, and digital scales. The company, founded in 1946, is headquartered in Newton, MA.

The Mitutoyo 395 series LCD tube micrometer has a vertical anvil for measuring tubing wall thickness. It also has a digital single-value LCD readout that displays in metric units with resolution to 0.001mm, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) data output to transmit results to a computer or external device. The output jack transmits SPC results to a computer through an interface cable (sold separately). The micrometer’s electronic microprocessor can hold measurement at any position, convert to absolute value, set a temporary zero position, and return to a true zero reading. The electronics housing has an Ingress Protection 65 (IP65) rating, which means that components are resistant to penetration by dust and debris, and resistant to penetration by liquids and coolant up to the force of a low-pressure (to 30 kilonewtons/meter-squared) water jet. The spindle has a flat measuring face that is carbide-tipped for wear resistance. The vertical anvil may be a pin, spherical, or cylindrical type. The micrometer’s ratchet-stop mechanism helps provide uniform pressure during adjustment for precise, repeatable measurement. A spindle lock helps provide secure locking of the measurement position. The micrometer includes, and is powered by, a single SR44 silver oxide battery, and comes with a plastic case for storage.Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.Mitutoyo manufa...
